Maker's Mark and Jim Beam: Two legendary bourbons. But which one do you prefer for that perfect old fashioned you plan on crafting this evening? Jim Beam is famous for their high rye mashbills, while Maker's Mark is renowned for their wheated bourbons. Is the softer, sweeter wheat or the bolder, spicier rye the one you like?
This is a cocktail emergency... so Maker's Mark and Jim Beam are dispatching their cocktail experts to meet with the Brotherhood and educate us on various versions of the classic Old Fashioned.
We'll start with a brief history of the Old Fashioned cocktail. Then you'll get to try a neat pour of two examples from each distillery:
Maker's Mark
Maker's 46
Knob Creek Rye
and the new Legent bourbon.
Lastly, we'll taste samples of Old Fashioned cocktails made with each of these four whiskeys.
Sure, we'll have some great food for you too, and of course there will be fantastic door prizes as always.
You must be 21 or over to attend this event. The Bourbon Brotherhood is a monthly gathering of men who enjoy bourbon and camaraderie.
