Description
Shelby Prevention is a non-profit organization focused on substance abuse and violence prevention. We collaborate with many other groups and organizations within the community to make our town a safer, healthier, and happier place to live and work.
Established in 1987, Shelby Prevention has grown to a membership of over 150 representing youth, parents, business community, media, school, youth-serving organizations, law enforcement, religious/fraternal organizations, civic and volunteer groups, healthcare professionals, state and local government and other community organizations involved in reducing substance abuse. Funding has been provided through various grants, allocations and appropriations.
The Council is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, incorporated in 1993. Membership is open to all members of the community regardless of race, color, creed, age, gender, religion, or national origin who subscribe to the mission and vision of Shelby Prevention.
